Made the 2.5 hour journey back to Algonquin park from Quebec to spend the day canoeing in the hope of seeing some wildlafe along the shorelines of the lake.
Rented a canoe from the Portage store and headed off up the creek. Didn't see much wildife on the way upto the end of the creek and then it started pissing it down. I wasn't really that prepared wearing jeans whilst Hev used my poncho I got from Niagara falls.
We reached the end of the creek and I decided it would be a good idea if we got off to dry land to eat our lunch, I thought it would be also a good idea to beach the canoe rather than pull up alongside the bank to get out. Disaster, as soon as we hit the shoreline, the canoe capsized and me being at the back was standing in waist deep water. Luckily I didn't get Fionas camera wet so by this point I was soaked and it wasn't that warm either.
We headed off back to the store as we'd had enough of the miserable conditions and then we were greeted with a male moose and then further along the river a female moose and her 2 calves. We made the most of the opportunity and filled up our memory cards with moose.
Handed the canoe back and then onwards to Muskoka to meet the wedding gang.
